Trendimi Make Up Course Review

So up until I took this course I was 100% "Self Taught" but lets face it nowadays you can't really get far without a certificate as proof of your abilities!

I work full-time so I needed something that I could fit to my own schedule so when I heard about the Trendimi Make Up course it sounded perfect!

Their website says:

"Face it – first impressions matterPeoples faces are what the world views first. Using skillful make up can present a face to portray a range of looks, moods and statements. It’s a vital tool in sculpting a whole image and goes hand in hand with fashion styling. Make Up artistry is now in big demand among a growing image-conscious public. Training in professional make up techniques with Trendimi’s Make Up course builds your credentials as a top to toe stylist. You can also work as a specialist make up artist alone..." - Trendimi Make Up Page

The course retails for £309 but there have been a few instances of the course being offered a lot cheaper through Wowcher which is where I heard of it. Personally I don't know if I would have paid full price for this course but if you can get it on offer I think it's worth it.

My experience of Trendimi was that it was a great basic introduction to make up artistry course. I think with the deal from Wowcher it was amazing value for money and the customer service I received from both companies was brilliant. No complaints!

  1. Do you get a certificate or anything? What does it qualify you to have if you pass? Mac Pro card and such..?

  2. You do get a certificate at the end, you have the option of either downloading it for free (I wouldn't advise this as it's only going to be on whatever paper your printer has and unsigned) or you can pay a small fee to have a "proper" certificate posted to you which is on high quality "certificate paper" (the kind you would get from an exam board as far as I can tell!) and it's signed.

As far as the MAC Pro card, I couldn't say as I've not sent my application in yet but I'll be sure to let you know via my blog as soon as I find out.

If nothing else I find it to be something more to add to a portfolio (especially helpful when you're starting out) and more experience.

The only thing that I can see that would mean you may not be able to get a Pro card is that it's a reasonably new course and therefore may not be widely recognised YET. Of course I'm just speculating and you'll have to check back for what happens once my application is received at MAC.

Hope that helped, feel free to contact me again with any more questions!

    1. Hi Jess,

Personally I really enjoyed it. You can work through it at your own pace and it covers all the basics. I'm still waiting to hear back with regards to if MAC recognises the qualification for it's Pro Card. But I do think it's worth it, especially if you can get it on a deal site as you say you have. I don't know that I would pay the full price for it as it's quite steep!!!

I'd love to hear how you get on with it :)

  11. I've done the course and the curriculum covers all the basics! :) It has 9 different modules. "Skin types", "Corrections", "Tools", "Foundations and Corrections", "Colour", "Eye makeup", "Makeup for eyebrows", "Lip makeup", and "Types of makeup" are all the modules they offer. They give you the basics of everything with 3 ways to learn. A "study", then a "exercise", and then a "test".
It's easy and fun to do! :)

  16. I've just done the wedding one and it is a total waste of money - clearly not written by a wedding planner or a tutor. It is not very informative - you would learn more buying a book or even wedding magazine to get more information.

  17. Hi, I just saw an offer on this and I'm interested, but I'm a little confused. Is the information on the course more than what I could potentially learn from Youtube make up tutorials? And more importantly, do you actually practise the make up on yourself, and is there someone to question if you can't do it 'correctly'?

    Thank you!

    1. With regards to YouTube, in my opinion it's an amazing resource. With the amount of videos uploaded each day you are guaranteed the opportunity to continue learning. However it isn't a structured course and there is no certificate at the end. It's really down to personal taste and what you're after. There isn't anyone you can contact as far as I remember.

Hope that helped, thank you for reading!!
